DDCA is the practice of Pete Diamantis, a Chicago-based engineer with a long career across data center operations, enterprise storage, fiber-optic infrastructure, and high-end home automation.
The practice
Every engagement is delivered personally — no junior bench, no off-shore back office, and no commissions from the vendors we evaluate. Clients hire us for one reason: a straight answer from someone who has actually run the systems we’re reviewing.
The work is small on purpose. We take a limited number of clients each quarter so the recommendations carry the weight of full attention. When we cannot help, we say so plainly and refer out.
Why independent
DDCA earns nothing from vendors. No SPIFFs, no referral fees, no rebates. That keeps the analysis honest: we recommend what fits, not what pays. For owners writing six- and seven-figure checks, that independence is the entire value.
Coverage
Based in Chicago. Remote-first across the US and EMEA, with on-site work for facility walks, in-rack reviews, fiber plant inspections, and home / small-business installs in the Chicago metro and Greater Boston.
Engagement models
Hourly for one-off opinions and RFP scoring. Fixed-fee for defined deliverables like facility evaluations, fiber designs, and WiFi surveys. Retainer for ongoing builds, migrations, and multi-site rollouts. We’ll suggest the model that fits the scope.
